The Grest Trust and our Staff
The Trust values the quality the Home’s staff and the care they provide as the basis for for a happy, safe and comfortable environment and have sought the extensive expertise and experience of Sapphire Care Limited to provide the daily management of the home under a lease agreement with a team lead by registered manager, John Adair.
The Trust
In the 1880’s, responding to the needs of the poor and elderly in the hard times of nineteenth century rural Manx life, sisters Margaret and Esther Clucas gave the land on which the home and farm now stand, built the home and appointed the first Trustees .
The service that the home provided steadily adapted as the enormous social and medical changes of the next century evolved but the focus of providing the best possible care for the elderly remains central to the home’s philosophy.

Our accountant and Hon secretary is Mr John Strickett of Strickett and Moore, Ramsey.
In 1917, six local ladies were appointed by the trust to form a Ladies Committee whose present members continue their fund raising activities to provide many resident comforts.
Our Staff
Led by experienced manager Mr John Adair, we are confident that you will find our staff not only to be to be well trained and professional but also cheerful, kind, caring and respectful.
Our enthusiastic staff, from having activities such as Christmas Fayres , have created a residents fund and have engaged the residents with decision making on purchases.
